COACH'S QUOTE
"Tonight, was a great game and we were able to get off to a great start," Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker said. "I thought Stef and Anthony played a good game but I thought we got a great production from our bench once again."

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The long ball was the story in the early minutes. Stef Smith drained a pair from three-point land but UML's Ron Mitchell (16 points) countered with two of his own. A layup from Daniel Giddens had the Cats out in front 8-6 by the first media timeout.
• The Catamounts continued their hot shooting with 17 unanswered points in a near nine-minute stretch and padded the advantage to 25-6.
• The River Hawks produced a small 17-10 run of their own in the last six minutes, but the Cats still had the upper hand at the break with a 35-23 lead.
• UMass Lowell cut the margin to single digits, 46-37, with 15:32 left on the clock, but UVM responded with a 23-10 spurt in a seven-minute span.
• Vermont continued to outpace the UMass Lowell offense and expanded the lead to as high as 32 points in the final minute.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Anthony Lamb guided the offensive attack with his seventh 20-point game of the season. The senior shot 4-for-8 from downtown and nearly picked up a double-double with nine rebounds.
Ryan Davis also came close to recording double-double with 16 points and seven rebounds. The 6-8 forward was 6-of-10 from the field and pulled in five boards on the offensive glass.
• Smith reached double figures for the ninth straight game with 11 points on an efficient 4-for-5 night from the field. The junior was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point land and dished out a team-high four assists.
Bailey Patella also reached double figures with 10 points, canning all three attempts from the field and sinking a trio of free throws. The forward snagged two steals on defense.
• UVM has won the last seven meetings with UML and leads the all-time series 11-2.
• Saturday night was UVM's annual Rally Against Cancer game presented by Inspired Closets. Fans can bid now on the game-worn lavender jerseys at UVMathletics.com/Auctions. The auction runs until Thursday (Jan. 30) and the proceeds will benefit the University of Vermont Cancer Center.
• With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to a Vermont charity, bringing the 2020 total to 15 wins totaling $1,500. A special thank you to Vermont Mutual Insurance for their support, protecting Vermonters since 1828.
