MEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The Vermont Catamounts (3-16-4, 0-12-2 HEA) host Boston University (9-8-6, 6-4-5 HEA) on Handy Toyota Night at Gutterson Fieldhouse Friday. Vermont then makes its first trip to Houston Field House at RPI since 2005 to take on the RPI Engineers (10-12-2, 7-7-1 ECAC) Saturday night.

Friday's game is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m. and will stream through CBS All-Access. Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream through RPItv. Both games will broadcast on WVMT and through UVMAthletics.com/watch with Michael Lehr on the call.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Boston University enters Friday night with a 9-8-6 overall record and 6-4-5 Hockey East mark. The Terriers are coming off a conference weekend with a win and tie against 12th-ranked UMass Lowell.

David Farrance leads the team with 28 points and leads the nation in scoring among defensemen with 1.22 points per game. He is tied for second in the country with eight power play goals. Patrick Curry leads the Terriers with 13 goals and ranks 10th in the country with 1.29 points per game. Freshman Trevor Zegras leads BU with 18 assists and leads the nation's rookies with 0.82 assists per game.

Ashton Abel, who joined the team at the semester break, has played five games between the pipes. He leads Terrier goalies with a .937 save percentage and 1.58 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY UNDER SNEDDON
Vermont has a 13-24-8 record against the Terriers under
Kevin Sneddon. Twelve games between UVM and BU have gone to overtime since 2003.

The Catamounts have met the Terriers three times in the playoffs. BU took a three-game quarterfinal series win in 2007. Vermont took a 3-1 win in the Hockey East Semifinal in 2008. BU took a 5-4 win in the 2009 National Semifinal in Washington D.C.

SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
Rensselaer enters the weekend with a 10-12-2 overall record and 7-7-1 ECAC mark. The Engineers are tied for fifth in the conference standings with Colgate (6-3-3) and Quinnipiac (7-4-1). RPI hosts Dartmouth in ECAC play Friday. Â

Will Reilly, a 2017 seventh round Pittsburgh Penguins pick, leads RPI with 16 points. He is tied for the team lead in goals with Patrick Polino (7) and tied for the team lead in assists with Mike Gornall and Chase Zieky (9). Five of RPI's top-seven scorers are seniors.

Sophomore goalie Owen Savory leads the team with a 2.43 goals against average and .914 save percentage. Savory has started 15 of 24 games this season.

Rensselaer's penalty kill ranks second in the ECAC and 12th nationally with an 85.3% success rate. RPI has killed 69-of-81 penalties in 2019-20.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday night will break a deadlock in a series dating back to November 1972. Vermont and RPI are both 32-32-7 in series history with the Cats winning the series' last five games to draw even with the Engineers. Saturday night marks just the fifth meeting since Vermont joined Hockey East.
