LAMB IN THE ALL-TIME TOP 10
After scoring 20 points at UNH,
Anthony Lamb has tied Tony Orciari (1997-2001) for sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,743 career points. He is also 14 boards shy of rebounds the top-10 on the school's career rebounding list. The senior has pulled down 698 career boards.
ONE OR THE OTHER
Since UAlbany joined America East in 2001- 02, the two rivals have combined to win nine outright regular season conference titles and 12 tournament championships. In the last 16 seasons, either the Catamounts or Great Danes have made an America East Championship appearance 14 times including three head-to- head matchups in the title game.
TOP WINNINGEST AE COACHES
Saturday will also feature two of the top winningest America East coaches in America East history. Becker ranks fifth all-time with 113 league wins while Will Brown sits third all-time with 160 conference wins.
IT STARTS WITH DEFENSE
The Cats have one of the top field-goal percentage and scoring defenses in the country. UVM has allowed its opponents to shoot 36.8% from the floor this season, the fifth-lowest mark in Division I. The Green and Gold have also surrendered 58.5 points per game, the sixth-lowest average in the nation.
SCOUTING UALBANY
Since late-December, the Great Danes have won six out of their last eight games. UAlbany is one of the top outside shooting threats during league play. The Great Danes rank third in three-point percentage (34.9%) and total triples made (60). Cameron Healy has been one of the primary deep threats. The sophomore sits third in the conference with 22 three-pointers during league play. He dropped a program-record 41 points versus UMass Lowell last Saturday and made eight attempts from long range. Ahmad Clark follows with a 15.8 scoring average and paces the team in assists (86) and steals (29).
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts have a 31-14 upper hand in the all-time series and have won the last seven meetings, the second-longest streak in the history of the series. Last year, UVM stymied UAlbany 80-51 on the road in the conference opener, then used a double-double from Lamb to earn a 67-49 win at home.
