The University of Vermont Women's Basketball team will celebrate
National Girls and Women in Sport Day on Saturday, February 1
during their game against UAlbany at 2 P.M.
National Girls and Women in Sport Day is a national day of observance recognizing women and girls involved in sports. This day celebrates the accomplishments of female athletes and the ongoing struggle for equality that female athletes have historically faced. February 6th, 2020 marks the thirty fourth annual day and the theme will be "Lead Her Forward", encouraging females to reach their maximum potential and excellence.
On February 1, girls from the local community with an interest in sports and being involved in this celebration will have the opportunity to become members of the UVM Athletic Staff for the day. Girls between the ages of fourth and eighth grade can apply to a wide variety of positions on game day including: Public Address Announcer, Marketing Assistant, Ticket Staff, and many more! Participants will be able to work in the position for one half of the game, the other half they will be able to watch the game with family. Following the game there will be a pizza party and a mingling session with UVM female student-athletes.

click here. All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 20. Participants selected will be informed on Wednesday, January 22.
Those chosen to participate will receive free tickets for family members who wish to attend the game.
