BURLINGTON, Vt. – Former UVM men's basketball center
Daniel Giddens '20 has signed a professional contract with Switzerland's Union Neuchâtel. The 6-11 big man has joined a club that plays in the Swiss Basketball League (SBL), the country's top tier division of basketball.

Giddens made his professional debut in the club's season opener on Sunday night and helped Union Neuchâtel to an 80-78 win over SBL foe Boncourt. He finished the outing with six points and 10 rebounds.
The Mableton, Georgia native came to Catamount Country as a graduate transfer from Alabama and Ohio State last season. He started 30 games for the Green and Gold and ranked second on the team with 18 blocks. Giddens paced the Cats with a 57.9% field goal percentage and averaged 3.4 points and 3.1 rebounds. He notched a career-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting against Gallaudet and had a season-high nine boards in UVM's 70-68 upset at St. John's.

John Becker's nine-year tenure. He is also the second Cat to ever play for Union Neuchâtel. Grant Anderson '03 spent the 2003-04 campaign with the club.
