WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior forward
Val Caldwell was named Hockey East Player of the Week Monday morning after a three-point game against UNH Saturday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Caldwell had a goal and two assists Saturday as the Catamounts opened the 2020-21 campaign with a 4-2 win over the Wildcats. Saturday marked the second time in her career she has had three or more points in a single game.
"It was a great opening week for Val as she made a huge impact on the games," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "What a great way to start her senior year and we certainly count on her to keep it rolling."
The Catamounts are off next weekend and are scheduled to return to action Friday, January 1 at 6 p.m. as they host Holy Cross. The two-game set will conclude on Saturday with a 2 p.m. rematch. Free streaming of both contests will be available on CBS CollegeSportsLive with Rob Ryan on the call.
