WORCESTER, Mass. – The Vermont Catamounts finished the 2020 America East Championship with 493.5 points, jumping Binghamton (486.5 pts.) in the final events Sunday to finish third for the eighth-straight season.
New Hampshire (876 pts.) won the Championship with last year's champion, UMBC, finishing second with 759.5 points

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophia Smith (17:36.28) finished 10th and Mina Poppas (17:38.92) finished 12th in the 1650 free.
- Beth Hartog posted a time of 2:03.09 to claim fifth in the A Final of the 200 back. Morgan Montgomery raced to 2:05.26 in the B Final to finish 11th and Peyton McNulty (2:08.39) followed in 15th.
- Cailin Campbell took seventh in the A Final of the 100 free after a time of 52.23. Sierra Sexton finished just behind in eighth with a time of 52.70.
- Kira Parker (52.26) touched the wall first in the B Final of the 100 free to finish ninth overall. Isabelle Magbie (52.86) finished 11th and Vivian Nguyen (53.57) finished 15th.
- Francesca Pucillo (2:23.45) finished 11th overall in the 200 breast after racing in the B Final.
- In the B Final of the 200 fly, Katie Rivers (2:07.17) touched the wall first to finish ninth. Katherine Morrissey posted a time of 2:12.32 to finish 12th and Savannah Buch (2:12.63) finished 13th.
- The 400 free relay team of Parker, Nguyen, Campbell, and Isabelle Magbie closed the championship with a time of 3:28.16 to finish third.
CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
- Hartog reached the A Final in tonight's 200 back after reaching the A Final in the 100 back last night.
- The 200 free relay gold on Friday marked the fourth time in the last five seasons Vermont has won the 200 free relay.
