As we approach our final home games of the season, and my last games at Gutterson as the Head Coach, I want to thank you, our amazing fans.  We have one of the best fan bases in the country, and I have enjoyed the students and fans immensely during my 17 years at UVM.  A giant salute to all of you for providing our student-athletes with one of the best environments to play college hockey.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 

I realize our program is not where we want it.  I take full responsibility for where we stand today.  No one is more disappointed than our players and staff.  Yet, I am hopeful that you see a group of young men that never give up and have refused to let anyone take away their spirit.  That is a great life lesson and example to others.  No matter how tough the circumstances, they have placed that jersey over their heads every night with pride.  No matter how tough the previous weekend might have been, they come to the rink everyday with effort and a positive attitude.  They go out of their way to give back to the community no matter how down they might feel inside.  They excel in the classroom more than any team I have ever coached.  They do so because their spirit is unbreakable, they love UVM, and they appreciate the support from all of you.

This weekend, we celebrate six seniors who are remarkable young men.  Let's honor their efforts and celebrate them as players and people as we take on Northeastern University.  I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend. 

Once again, thank you for being great college hockey fans.
