Alyssa Oviedo helped the Dominican Republic to its highest finish ever at the 2020 Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Women's U-20 Championship earlier this month. Oviedo was one of 19 players to record a hat trick in the tournament.
Oviedo and the host nation logged a 3-1-1 record in stage play, including a 7-0 victory over Honduras on the opening day of the tournament. The 5-4 midfielder scored twice in the second half.
In the knockout stage, she capped off a 4-1 win against El Savador with a goal in the 65th minute. The Dominican Republic took down Jamaica 2-1 in the quarterfinal round before falling to eventual champion Team USA in the semifinals.
The semifinal berth was a first for the DR in a Concacaf tournament.
