Becker was selected as a finalist for the second straight year and for the third time in the last four seasons. He has added his third Coach of the Year accolade of 2019-20. He earned America East Coach of the Year honors for the fourth consecutive year, the first coach in the history of the league to accomplish the milestone. He was also tabbed as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District I Coach of the Year earlier Monday.
Becker and the Catamounts notched a 26-7 overall record and recorded the third-most wins in school history for a single season. UVM posted a 14-2 mark in conference play and became the first America East team to win four outright regular season conference titles in a row. The Catamounts received votes in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll eight times. In conference play, the Cats produced a 12-game winning streak – the fourth-longest streak of its kind in the country. Vermont captured its second straight America East Championship and third in the last four years.
