BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont field hockey program announced seven members of the Class of 2024 in this year's recruiting class. The group includes five Americans and two international students.

Jamie Borthwick comes to Vermont after three years at West Vancouver High School and a fourth year at Collingwood School. The defender captained the team and led West Vancouver to a 2017 provincial championship while earning team MVP honors. She chose Vermont for the home-like feeling of Burlington and the campus as well as the welcoming nature of the team and staff.
Ally Kennedy will matriculate after spending four years at Watertown High School in Massachusetts. Kennedy captained the field hockey team as a senior and finished her high school career with 66 goals and 63 assists. She helped Watertown to four league championships and two state titles. Individually, Kennedy was a four-time Middlesex League All-Star, two-time All-Conference selection, and a 2019 Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic selection.
Eileen King will begin her Catamount career this fall after spending four years on the varsity field hockey team at Niskayuna High School in New York. King captained the team as a junior and senior and was the recipient Niskayuna's 2019 Phenomenal Woman Award. On the field, King was a 2019 All-State selection and two-time First Team Suburban Council All-Star. She chose Vermont for the athletic and academic opportunities.
Puck Kwaspen hails from Eindhoven, Netherlands and becomes the third Catamount from the town on the roster this fall. Kwaspen graduated from Stedeljik College Eindhoven and chose UVM for the academics, athletics, and location.
Lexi Rivet hails from North Andover, Massachusetts and will arrive in Burlington after a four-year field hockey career at North Andover. Rivet captained the team as a junior and senior and earned team MVP in each of those seasons. She finished her high school career with 50 goals and 28 assists and was named First Team All-MVC and an Eagle Star Tribune All-Star in 2018 and 2019.
Theresa Schmus will arrive in Burlington this fall as a native of Voorhees, New Jersey and Eastern Regional High School. Schmus helped Eastern to four straight New Jersey Olympic Conference Championships, four straight Group 4 Sectional Championships, four straight Group 4 State Championships, and the 2018 New Jersey State Title. She chose Vermont for the athletic opportunities and the reputation of the Grossman School of Business.
Courtney Watt rounds out the class as the third international student, hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. The goaltender graduated from Albany Senior High School in Auckland. Watt was named team MVP in 2018 and 2019, playing in 138 total games in those seasons, recording 40 shutouts and a 1.67 goals against average. She chose Vermont for its unique location and opportunities.
