Oviedo is the Catamounts leading scorer this season with four goals and one assist for nine points. On Thursday night, she scored in the 56th minute at Maine to provide an insurance marker in a 2-0 win. Yesterday afternoon she scored on a stunning finish from a 26-yard free kick. Her perfect attempt was labeled just under the bar for the game-winner over NJIT. Oviedo also drew a penalty yesterday in the second half that led to Vermont's second goal of the afternoon.
After a big four day stretch for the Catamounts, earning six league points, they are currently tied for fourth place in America East with Stony Brook and NJIT. UVM's next opponent Hartford sits in third place with seven points. Vermont returns to action next Sunday, October 10 in West Hartford as they face the Hawks. Action is slated for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ or ESPN3.
