WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont (4-4-1, 2-1-1 HEA) return to league action this weekend as they host No. 4 Northeastern (8-2-1, 7-2-1 HEA) at Gutterson Fieldhouse for a two-game set. Puck drop is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed live for free on CollegeSportsLive.com/hockeyeast, with Rob Ryan on the call.
Saturday is the Catamounts annual Military Appreciation Game presented by Milton CAT. The Catamounts will wear special edition Military Appreciation jerseys for their game against Northeastern on Saturday. These game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off starting at $125 per jersey. The auction will end on Saturday November 20
th 2021 at 12 p.m. Proceeds from this jersey auction will go to the Josh Pallotta Fund. The Catamounts will also host a Postgame Skate with the Cats Saturday, fans can bring skates and a helmet to skate with the women's hockey team following the game.

The Catamounts own the nation's eighth-ranked penalty kill this season, boasting a 92.0% success rate. Vermont has only allowed two goals while shorthanded this season, and has scored once while on the penalty kill –
Natálie Mlýnková against RPI (Oct. 2). The 2018-19 Catamounts finished the season with the nation's top penalty kill at 87.4%.
WORKING OVERTIME
Each of the Catamounts last three contests have gone to overtime. Vermont fell in a shootout at Boston University on October 29 before falling in overtime a day later at UConn. This Tuesday night the Catamounts fell 3-2 in overtime at Dartmouth.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Last season's national runner-up has recovered from a slow start this season to go 6-0-1 in its last seven games. In their last four games the Huskies scored 13 goals against Boston College and Providence collecting 14 league points in those contests.
This past weekend Aerin Frankel was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week and Syklar Fontaine was named Hockey East Player of the Week. Frankel made 62 saves on 64 shots faced against the Friars last weekend and Fontaine had one goal and four assists.
Frankel was also named HCA National Co-Goaltender of the Month for September/October after starting the campaign with a 6-1-0 record and maintaining the third-best goals-against average in the country at 0.88.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This weekend will mark the 55th and 56th all-time meeting between the Catamounts and Huskies. Northeastern has eliminated Vermont in two of the last three seasons in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. Vermont is 8-42-4 all-time against Northeastern. Vermont's last win against NU game on January 27, 2018.
Ève-Audrey Picard completed a hat trick with 11 seconds left in regulation to seal a 4-3 win and a program record fourth straight win over the Huskies.
CATAMOUNTS IN EUROPE AT OLYMPIC QUALIFYING
Six current and former Catamounts are in Europe for qualifying tournaments for a spot in the Olympics. Sammy Kolowrat '19, Natálie Mlynková and Tynka Pátková will compete with the Czech Republic in Group C for qualifying. They will compete at home in Chomutov, Czech Republic from November 11-14.
Antonia Matzka and
Theresa Schafzahl will compete for Austria and Chelsea Furlani '10 for Italy in Group D qualifying hosted in
Füssen, Germany on the same weekend. The top team in each qualifying group of four countries will advance to the Olympics.
