BOSTON – Andrew Crompton,
Meaghan Alba, and
Jane Leighton have been named to the America East All-Academic Teams for their work on the cross country course and in the classroom. The conference made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Crompton receives All-Academic honors for the second consecutive season – the junior was named to the All-Academic Team in the 2021 spring cross country season. Crompton carries a 4.00 grade point average as a Microbiology major. The Berlin, Vermont native has been a consistent member of the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll. Crompton won the Fall Foliage Invitational this season with a commanding 43.2-second margin of victory.
Alba is named to the All-Academic Team for the first time in her career as a senior at Vermont. The Philomath, Oregon native has been named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll in each season, with a 3.84 grade point average as a Professional Nursing major. Alba captained the Catamounts' women's cross country team this season, and placed fifth in the Fall Foliage Invitational. The senior was one of Vermont's scoring runners in the 2021 America East Championships.
Leighton earns All-Academic honors after being named to the Elite 18 by America East at the conference championships. The Elite 18 is awarded to one student-athlete in each sport who exemplifies excellence both in their sport and in the classroom. Leighton carries a 3.99 grade point average as a Professional Nursing major. On the race course, Leighton earned All-Conference honors this season with a 10th-place finish at the America East Championships. She was also named America East Female Performer of the Week for her victory at the Vermont Invite.
