FALL FOLIAGE INVITE
ST. ALBANS, Vt. – MegAnne Gilmore and James Cilwik were the top finishers as Vermont competed in the Fall Foliage Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Catamount women took second with 49 points, while the men took third with 76 points.

COACH'S QUOTE
"The women raced with a purpose and intensity today, and we had a fair amount of success getting four victories out of that race. Izzy Fryer had an especially good race, and others are on the way back from mid-season challenges," said head coach Matt Belfield. "The men executed a good plan with some of our men doing a planned effort coming off of last weekend's New England Championship, and others racing for a spot on our ten-man AE roster. A lot of very good performances with a special nod to Henry Nasse who keeps getting better every week. We will work hard to put our best effort out there in two weeks when we take on all 8 of our AE rivals. Today was an emotional day that brings the end of XC careers for some of our seniors. Joe and I are very grateful for their years of dedication to our program."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Cilwik finished 13th at 26:10.70. Jacob Tremblay was the second Catamount runner to finish with a 17th place finish at 26:28.90.
• Elliot Hawley placed 18th with a time of 26:33.40. Nasse finished 20th with a time of 26:35.80. William Locke rounded out Vermont's scoring, placing 21st with a time of 26:37.20.
• Gilmore placed second with a time of 17:57.5. Clare Kelly was the second runner across the line for the women, finishing fifth with a time of 18:16.00.
• Isabella Fryer finished 12th with a time of 18:29.30. Caroline Deiss came in 13th with a time of 18:31.60. Claire MacDonald rounded out the scoring with a 17th-place finish in 18:39.50.

 
UP NEXT
The Catamounts will return to action in two weeks when they host the America East Championships at Hard'Ack on Saturday (Nov. 2).
