BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont women's lacrosse has announced six captains chosen to lead the program for the 2022 season. The leadership group, made up of
Riley Halloran,
Grace Giancola,
Molly McDonough,
Maris Large,
Carolyn Carrera, and
Camille Argentieri, was selected by members of the team.

"I am really excited for these six who were chosen by their peers to lead our team this year," said head coach
Sarah Dalton Graddock. "They all lead in different ways and together have the ability to influence and attract followers while taking our program in the direction we want to go."
Giancola and Large will serve as captains for the second consecutive season. Entering her redshirt senior season, Giancola was named to the America Est All-Conference Second Team after registering 19 goals and 25 points, which ranked second on the Catamounts. Large also posted 19 goals for Vermont a season ago, including a pair of goals and one assist in the America East Semifinals.
Halloran and McDonough join the leadership group for the first time as seniors. Halloran posted six goals and 14 points, while seeing action in all 12 games a season ago. McDonough registered one goal as a midfielder, but scooped up 21 groundballs, which ranked third on the team in 2021.
Carrera and Argentieri are Vermont's leaders on defense. The UVM duo was key in the Catamounts tallying 115 caused turnovers last season. Carrera caused 12 turnovers as a junior a season ago, which ranked second on the team. Argentieri was credited with seven caused turnovers and picked up 20 groundballs, which was the fourth-highest total on the Catamounts. Argentieri was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
Vermont finished third in America East last season to clinch its first postseason appearance since 2016. The Catamounts return 98.5% of their goals from a season ago, as well as America East Goalkeeper of the Year
