Lou Henson Watch List
The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top mid-major player in Division I college basketball. Lou Henson coached for 41 years and accrued the sixth-most Division I career wins (779). He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.
Davis is one of 50 student-athletes named to the preseason watch list and one of two America East players – Stony Brook's Elijah Olaniyi also earned a spot on the list. Davis is the reigning Kevin Roberson America East Player of the Year after averaging 18.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. The Illinois native was third in the country in Player Efficiency Rating (32.6) and boasted a league-high 58.0 field goal percentage. Davis also earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District I First Team and U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District Team honors.
The recipient of the 2021-22 Lou Henson Award will be announced in April.
