BOSTON – Nine Catamounts received season-long honors from America East for their strong performances in the 2021 men's soccer season. The league announced its awards on Thursday morning.
Alex Nagy,
Noah Egan, and
Nate Silveira received First Team All-Conference honors.
Nacho Lerech,
Daniel Pacella, and
Zach Barrett were named to the All-Conference Second Team. A trio of first years –
Mujtaba Mirhasan,
Cole Richardson, and
Adrian Schulze Solano – were named to the All-Rookie Team.

Nagy and Egan receive their second First Team All-Conference honors. The UVM duo were named to the First Team a season ago. Nagy posted a team-high 20 points in 17 games played. The midfielder registered a league-high 10 assists, which is the third-highest single-season total in program history. Nagy's assist total currently ranks third in the nation. Egan was a mainstay on Vermont's back line. The senior was key in Vermont boasting an impressive 0.94 goals against average that ranked second in America East. Egan also scored a career-high three goals.
Silveira earns his first career All-Conference honor. The senior accrued an .810 goals against average, a .776 save percentage, and tallied seven clean sheets as Vermont's goalkeeper. Silveira's shutout total ranks ninth in the nation.
Lerech tallied a team-high six goals to earn is his first career America East honor. The graduate student ranked fifth in the league in goals, and paced the conference in shots on goal (25). Lerech capped off the regular season with three points on the road at Binghamton.
Pacella is named to the All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive season. The sophomore was named America East Rookie of the Year a season ago. Pacella locked down the midfield for the Catamounts and was key in Vermont's impressive 1.13 scoring margin in conference play.
Barrett receives the second season-long award of his career – the defender was on the All-Rookie Team last season. The sophomore was a defensive stalwart on the back line and jumped up to score a trio of goals on Vermont's set pieces. Barrett was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on October 25.
Mirhasan saw action in seven games for the Catamounts to earn All-Rookie honors. A playmaker, Vermont was 5-1-1 when Mirhasan saw action. The Greenfield Park, Quebec native posted a season-high four shots on goal in Vermont's 2-0 win over Hartford (Oct. 13).
Richardson also saw action in seven games this season, and tallied one assist from the backend. The rookie registered a helper on the game's first goal as Vermont beat Binghamton 4-1 in the regular season finale. The Catamounts yielded only four goals in the seven games that Richardson played.
Schulze Solano entered 12 games this season as a rookie for the Catamounts and registered his first collegiate goal against Siena on September 21. The defender was named America East Rookie of the Week on September 27.
The No. 2 Catamounts will host the winner of No. 3 UAlbany and No. 6 NJIT in the America East Semifinals on Wednesday, November 10. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Virtue Field. Tickets are available for purchase at
