Silveira is only the third Catamount in program history to earn the award, and the first since Aron Runarsson in 2017. The Vermont goalkeeper was named to the All-Conference First Team for the first time in his career on Thursday (Nov. 4).
In 16 games played, Silveira posted seven shutouts and registered a .776 save percentage that ranked second in America East. Silveira's seven clean sheets is the ninth-highest single-season total by a Catamount. The East Providence, Rhode Island native currently has 11 victories on the season, which is fifth on the Vermont single-season wins list. Silveira's .810 goals against average is currently ninth on the UVM single-season list.
Silveira was named America East Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. The senior did not allow a goal in his first 475:17 of action to start the 2021 campaign as the Catamounts became the fifth team in program history to begin a season with five straight wins.
Silveira and the No. 2 Catamounts will host No. 6 NJIT in the America East Semifinals on Wednesday, November 10. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Virtue Field. Tickets are available for purchase at
