COACH'S QUOTE
"Credit to BU for a great effort tonight," said Head Coach Jim Plumer. "Hockey is a 60-minute game and we got outplayed for the first 30 minutes. I loved our response in the second half of the game but it was too late. It's an important lesson for us as we head into the final weekend."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Less than four minutes into the game, the Catamounts won a faceoff in the neutral zone and worked their way up the left wing. Theresa Schafzahl finished the scoring chance will a bullet into the top right corner for her fourth goal of the year.
- BU's Mackenna Parker tied the game a minute and a half into the second period. Jesse Compher flicked a back-handed pass along the boards from the right wing. Parker collected the pass behind the goal, skated around the edge of the circle, and snuck the equalizer inside of the left post and McPherson's blocker.
- The Terriers grabbed their first lead of the weekend with seven minutes left in the middle frame. Working from behind the net, Catherine Foulem skated to her left and found Compher in the slot, who lined a low one-timer past McPherson.
- Boston University tacked on an insurance goal 10 seconds into the third period. With a power play carrying over to the final frame, the Catamounts won the faceoff but Parker stole the puck away from a UVM defender near the crease. Parker flicked a backhand on-goal that was stopped by McPherson but Nara Elia came in from the left side to bury the rebound.
- The Terriers added an empty-net goal from Compher with eight seconds left in the contest.
