BOSTON – For the second week in a row, UVM women's lacrosse goalie
Sophie McLaughlin has been named America East Defensive Player of the Week. The league made the announcement on Monday morning.

McLaughlin helped the Catamounts to a 17-10 win at Binghamton on Saturday afternoon. The junior from Keene, New Hampshire made 12 saves, her third straight game with at least 10 saves. She currently leads the league with a .644 save percentage and 14.50 saves per game.
UVM is off to a 3-0 start in conference play for the first time in school history. The three America East victories are also the most since the 2015 campaign.
Vermont will host UMass in the non-conference finale on Wednesday (March 24) at 3 p.m. The game is UVM's annual Military Appreciation Day presented by Milton Cat. Fans can watch the contest on ESPN+ and the ESPN app with a paid subscription.
