The Vermont women's swimming team is off to NJIT for the 2021 America East Championships hosted by the conference newcomer at the NJIT Wellness and Events Center in Newark, N.J.

The three-day competition begins Friday (Apr. 22) at 11 a.m. The women in the conference will compete Friday, Saturday and Sunday in finals only events that begin at 11 a.m. each day. The action will be streamed live on ESPN+. ESPN+ is $5.99/month and fans can subscribe at

ELEVATED CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS UNDER COACH COURNOYER
In his 21st season with the Catamounts Head Coach
Gerry Cournoyer has helped the program reach new heights in America East. Prior to his arrival the UVM women had never finished higher than fourth overall. They have finished third in eight straight seasons now. UVM narrowly claimed third place by seven points over Binghamton last season.

GARDEN STATE HOMECOMING FOR FIRST YEARS
First year Catamounts
Juliana Ward (Bridgewater, N.J.) and
Sophia Sinibaldi (Voorhees, N.J.) will be competing collegiately for the first time in their careers in their home state of New Jersey.

EARNING ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
The top three finishers in each individual event – as well as members of the first-place relay teams – will earn all-conference honors. In addition to last year's 200 Free relay win
Sierra Sexton earned all-conference honors in the 50 Free finishing second overall.

Emily Murphy led the Catamounts at the 2021 America East Diving Championships placing second overall and earning All-Conference honors in the one-meter competition last Sunday. Her second-place finish matched her career-best at the America East Championship. She placed fifth overall in the one-mere

First yearÂ
Chloe Smith earned a seventh-place finish in her championship debut with a mark of 202.20 in the three-meter. Smith finished 10th in the one-meter.
Taylor Nguyen placed 13th overall in her best finish with a score of 152.40 in the one-meter.
