NEWARK, N.J. –
Katie Rivers and
Kira Parker earned All-Conference honors Sunday as the Catamounts concluded the 2021 campaign on the final day of the America East Championships at NJIT's Wellness and Events Center. UVM finished third overall for the ninth straight season. UNH won the team title for the third time in the last four seasons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- First year Ellie Martin was the top finisher for the Catamounts in the first event of the day the 1000 Free. Martin finished in a time of 10:27.53 placing fourth overall and earning 15 team points for UVM. Molly Williams placed tenth in the distance race with a mark of 10:39.26.
- Beth Hartog led the way for UVM in the 200 Back. She placed fifth overall with a time of 2:04.42. At the 2020 meet she also placed fifth. Peyton McNulty came in 10th for the Catamounts with a career-best time of 2:06.44.
- Kira Parker earned further All-Conference accolades with a second-place finish in the 100 Free. Parker finished in a time of 51.06. Parker led an impressive UVM contingent in the event, four Catamounts finished in the top-10 claiming 50 valuable team points. Mina Poppas (51.53) placed fourth for UVM, Cailin Campbell (52.24) was eighth and Isabelle Magbie (52.78) was 10th.
- McNulty was the Catamounts top finisher in the 200 Breast, she came in 17th with a time of 2:32.40.
- Katie Rivers concluded her UVM career finishing third overall in the 200 Fly and earning another All-Conference nod. Her time of 2:05.47 was the fastest of her collegiate career. First year Maggie Mantz earned her first career top-10 with a time of 2:09.89.
- UVM's 400 Free Relay team was narrowly defeated by UNH and finished second overall in the final event of the meet. Parker, Magbie, C. Campbell and Poppas finished the event with a time of 3:25.98. The Wildcats won the event by just .26 seconds.
NOTES
- Katie Rivers was tied for third among the entire meet individually collecting 53 team points. Kira Parker was seventh with 50 points and Mina Poppas was tied for eighth with 48 points.
- The Catamounts finished within eight points of second place UMBC, it is the closest Vermont has ever come to second at the conference meet. Previously the closest was 44 points off of second place in 2014.
