LAST WEEK
Vermont won all three of its games last week marking the first three-game winning streak during head coach
Kate Pfeifer's tenure. Tuesday's three players scored goals in a 3-2 win over Holy Cross. Friday afternoon
Sophia Drees fired home an overtime game-winner for a 2-1 win against Hofstra. Sunday, a strong fourth quarter and another Drees goal pushed the Cats to a 2-0 victory over Brown.
Â
COOL DREES
First-year
Sophia Drees was named the America East Rookie of the Week for her efforts in the three UVM wins. The rookie from Bremen, Germany broke out for seven points (3 goals, 1 assist). She had a goal and one assist in the Catamounts' 3-2 win over Holy Cross and then scored the clinching goal in overtime to defeat Hofstra 2-1 for her first career game-winning goal. She added a game-winning goal two days later to defeat Brown 2-0.
Â
ON A ROLL
The Cats looks to make it four in a row on Saturday which would be the longest streak since the 2011 season. UVM won four straight from Sept. 3-11 ten years ago.
Â
OFFENSE CLICKING
After a slow spring offensively, the Catamounts have 11 goals in six games and nine players have at least one point already this season. The team's 39 overall points is the most through six games since the 2017 season (43 points). The 11 goals also surpass last spring's total of nine during the shortened campaign.
Â
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth comes into the weekend with a 3-2 overall record and has won two straight games. Last week the Big Green scored victories at home over Central Michigan and Bryant to climb back above .500. Bronwyn Bird leads the Dartmouth offense with three goals and an assist while Isabella Santucci and Hatley Post have split time in cage early this season. The Ivy League did not play a 2020 season.
Â
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs are still in search of their first win and enter the weekend with a 0-6 record after losses to Dartmouth and Brown last weekend. Carson Dennis leads the Bulldogs with a pair of goals this year and Ellie Morrison posted a two defensive saves in last weekend's action. Bryant will play UNH on Friday before Saturday's tilt with the Cats.
Â
SERIES HISTORIES
