WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Catamount men's lacrosse great Ian MacKay won his first professional lacrosse championship yesterday as the Chaos Lacrosse Club defeated the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club, 14-9, in the Premiere Lacrosse League title game.

MacKay picked up a ground ball in the victory as part of a defensive group that held the Whipsnakes to just three second-half goals. The former Catamount finished the season with 10 total points (three 1-pt goals, three 2-pt goals, 1 assist), seven caused turnovers and 22 ground balls.
At UVM, MacKay scored 150 career goals which is still the top mark in program history. He also ranks third all-time in career points with 230 and fifth all-time with 80 career assists.
Vermont had serious ties to the PLL this summer. Along with MacKay, former defenseman Warren Jeffrey suited up for the Archers Lacrosse Club. Current associate head coach
