The trio qualified for the Olympics during a November qualifying tournament in Chomutov, Czech Republic. The Czechs went 3-0 in Group C to qualify defeating Poland, Hungary and Norway. Kolowrat scored two goals in the three games, Mlynková posted one goal and three assists and Pátková posted an assist. In August, the three of them also represented the Czech Republic at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Hockey Championship in Calgary, Alberta.
The 2022 Beijing Olympics will mark the first time UVM has more than one player in action in the tournament. In 2010 Klara Myren '15 represented Sweden finishing fourth overall and at the 2018 Olympics Amanda Pelkey '15 became the first Catamount to earn a medal in women's hockey at the Olympics winning gold with the United States.
The women's hockey tournament begins on February 3 (February 2 in the Eastern Time Zone), with the gold medal game set for February 17. The Czech Republic will compete in Group B along with China, Sweden, Denmark and Japan. If they finish in the top three of the group, they will qualify for the quarterfinals.
