WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Winners of five straight Vermont (15-9-2, 12-6-1 HEA) hits the road Friday afternoon to face recently minted #1 Northeastern (21-2-1, 16-2-1) at 2 p.m. from Matthews Arena in a game that will be broadcast live on NESN with Milton Posner on the call. For fans, outside of New England the game will also be broadcast live on CollegeSportsLive.

POULIN-LABELLE LEADS CATAMOUNTS OFFENSIVE ATTACK
Senior defenseman
Maude Poulin-Labelle leads the Catamounts in scoring with 11 goals and 19 assists this season for 30 points. She is second amongst all defenseman in scoring in the NCAA and tied for 16th overall. With 30 points this season she has reset her own program record (29 pts, 2019-20) for points by a defenseman in a single-season. With 77 career points in 106 games she's UVM's all-time leader in defensive scoring. In conference action, she is tied as the conference's leading scorer with 25 points with her teammate
Theresa Schafzahl.

Theresa Schafzahl is tied for first in Hockey East scoring with her teammate
Maude Poulin-Labelle. Schafzahl is currently on a seven-game point streak. She has eight goals and seven assists over that stretch. UVM is 6-1-0 over that stretch.
12 LEAGUE WINS, APPROACHING A RECORD
With eight games remaining in conference play the Catamounts have already reached the 12-win mark in Hockey East for the second time in program history. The team record for league wins in a season is 13, set by the 2013-14 team which was the first in program history to reach the Hockey East semifinals.

The Catamounts own the nation's fourth ranked penalty kill this season, boasting an 92.1% success rate. Vermont has only allowed five goals while shorthanded this season, and has scored three times while on the penalty kill with
Natálie Mlýnková scoring two of them. The 2018-19 Catamounts finished the season with the nation's top penalty kill at 87.4%. Vermont is one of just seven teams in the country to have allowed five or less goals shorthanded this season. Northeastern boasts the third best penalty kill in the country at 92.5%.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
The top-ranked Huskies are the best defensive team in the NCAA. In 24 games this season they have given up just 23 goals. They are led in net by the 2021 Patty Kazmaier Award winner Aerin Frankel. She currently leads the NCAA in wins (16), shutouts (7), GAA (.99) and save percentage (.959).
Northeastern is currently on a 20-game unbeaten streak and a 13-game winning streak. They last dropped a point on November 6 in a 1-1 with Providence. They have outscored their opponents 30-9 over the course of their winning streak. Northeastern hasn't lost at Matthews Arena since December 13, 2020 a run of 24 games.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday will mark the 57th all-time meeting between the Catamounts and Huskies. Northeastern has eliminated Vermont in two of the last three seasons in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. Vermont is 8-44-4 all-time against Northeastern. Vermont's last win against NU game on January 27, 2018.
Ève-Audrey Picard completed a hat trick with 11 seconds left in regulation to seal a 4-3 win and a program record fourth straight win over the Huskies.
FIVE CATAMOUNTS HEADED TO THE 2022 OLYMPICS
Sammy Kolowrat '19, Natálie Mlynková, Tynka Pátková and
Sini Karjalainen are headed to the 2022 Beijing Olympics. The 2022 Beijing Olympics will mark the first time UVM has more than one player in action in the tournament. In 2010 Klara Myren '15 represented Sweden finishing fourth overall and at the 2018 Olympics Amanda Pelkey '15 became the first Catamount to earn a medal in women's hockey at the Olympics winning gold with the United States.
Former captain and Hockey East official Chelsea Rapin '12 is also headed to Beijing as a referee for the women's hockey tournament.
