BOSTON – Vermont women's lacrosse has been selected fourth in the 2022 America East Preseason Poll. Voting was conducted by the conference's head men's basketball coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team. The league announced the results of the poll on Thursday afternoon.

Stony Brook (36 pts.) was selected as the preseason favorite for the 10th-straight season, garnering a unanimous six-first place votes. The Seawolves captured their eighth conference title a season ago. UMBC (28 pts.) edged out UAlbany (28 pts.) for second on the preseason poll, garnering the remaining first-place vote. Vermont rounded out the top four with 22 points.
Vermont returns 98.5% of its scoring from the 2021 team that clinched third place and secured the ninth America East Tournament berth in program history. UVM also returns America East Goalkeeper of the Year

Ava Vasile,
Grace Giancola, and
Camille Argentieri also return for the 2022 season.
The Catamounts kick off the 2022 campaign on Saturday (Feb. 12) with a road trip to Colgate. Vermont's home-opener is scheduled for Sunday (Feb. 20) against Merrimack at Virtue Field.
