Game Notes: Vermont
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and UAlbany square off for the 50th time in series history on Monday night. The Catamounts have a 34-15 all-time record against the Great Danes and are 18-8 at Patrick Gym. The conference foes split the two-game season series last year in Burlington. Vermont and UAlbany are two of the winningest programs among active America East schools with eight and five conference championships, respectively. Vermont's eight America East Championships are the most in league history.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany has won five of its last six games in conference play under first-year head coach Dwayne Killings. The Great Danes' losses in America East have come against Binghamton (L, 88-79 on Jan. 6), New Hampshire (L, 64-62 on Jan. 8), and Stony Brook, (L, 86-75 on Jan. 22). UAlbany's most recent win came on Saturday (Jan. 29) when Jamel Horton led the Great Danes to a 64-53 victory at NJIT. Horton averages 11.4 points and 4.0 assists per game on the season – his scoring average ranks second on the team. De'Vondre Perry leads the UAlbany offense with 12.8 points per game.
FAMILIAR FACE
Former Vermont assistant coach Hamlet Tibbs returns to Patrick Gym for the first time since joining the UAlbany staff. Tibbs is in his first season on the Great Danes' staff, serving as an assistant coach. Tibbs spent seven seasons with the Catamounts, in which Vermont won three America East titles and accrued a 166-61 overall record.
THE 80+ STREAK
Vermont extended its streak of wins with 80 points scored or more to a program-best seven-straight games with its 81-68 victory over Maine on Saturday (Jan. 29). Vermont's previous record was 80-plus points in four straight games, which was last done by the 1999-00 Catamounts. UVM has averaged 84.6 points per game during the seven-game stretch, outscoring opponents by an average of 18.0 points.

Vermont has won nine-straight games entering Monday's game. The Catamounts have averaged 82.2 points, with an average scoring margin of +15.7.
