WEEKLY AWARDS FOR THE CATAMOUNTS
For the second straight week, two Catamounts earned weekly Hockey East honors. Senior defenseman Ellice Murphy was named Hockey East Defender of the Week and first year Sydney Correa was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week.

Correa made her collegiate debut last weekend starting the Catamounts contests against Providence and Maine. She made 32 saves in the two games and currently holds a 1.55 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. On Sunday, she made 14 saves against the Black Bears earning her first career win and first career shutout in a 3-0 decision. Vermont is the only team in Hockey East to earn a conference win from three goaltenders this season.

Murphy scored shorthanded for the Catamounts in their 3-0 win over the Black Bears Sunday. She had nine shots over the weekend and blocked a team-high three shots in the shutout win over Maine. Over the last two seasons UVM is 3-0-0 in Hockey East games she scores in.

MONTHLY ACCOLADES TOO
On Tuesday, the Catamounts earned more league awards as Evelyne Blais-Savoie was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month and Maude Poulin-Labelle earned Hockey East Player of the Month.

Named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on November 29 and December 13, Blais-Savoie takes home her first monthly honor after helping Vermont to a 2-2-0 record with two goals and one assist in four games in December. She scored the game-winning goal in a tilt that saw Vermont earn its first win over Boston College since 2009 and ended the first half of the season with points in three straight games.

Poulin-Labelle became the Vermont's all-time leader in scoring for a defenseman, tallying her 66th point in the month of December. She racked up four assists and five points in a two-game set at New Hampshire, earning the scoring crown with two assists on both Vermont goals in a 5-2 setback before erupting for a goal and two assists, including setting up the game-winner, in a 6-3 victory for the Catamounts the next night.

POULIN-LABELLE LEADS CATAMOUNTS OFFENSIVE ATTACK
Senior defenseman Maude Poulin-Labelle leads the Catamounts in scoring with six goals and 11 assists this season for 17 points. She is currently tied for fifth amongst all defenseman in scoring in the NCAA. Her numbers are boosted by a historic performance at Merrimack on November 21. She recorded the second hat trick of her career. She's the fourth Catamount in program history to record two or more hat tricks in her career. Allie Knowles, Dayna Colang and Ève-Audrey Picard were the other three. With 66 career points in 101 games she's UVM's all-time leader in defensive scoring.

PK PROWESS
The Catamounts own the nation's 5th ranked penalty kill this season, boasting an 91.3% success rate. Vermont has only allowed four goals while shorthanded this season, and has scored twice while on the penalty kill – Natálie Mlýnková against RPI (Oct. 2) and Ellice Murphy last weekend against Maine (Jan. 2). The 2018-19 Catamounts finished the season with the nation's top penalty kill at 87.4%. Vermont is one of just eight teams in the country to have allowed four or less goals shorthanded this season.

DISCIPLINE AMONG THE CATAMOUNTS
In addition to the Catamounts excellent penalty kill they have also done a fantastic job staying out of the penalty box. UVM has just 94 PIM this season, an average of 4.7 per game. Only No. 7 Yale (80) and No. 10 UConn (90) has fewer penalty minutes in the NCAA this season.
