COACH'S QUOTE
"Very excited for our men's team to earn third place today," head coach
Matt Belfield said. "It was the combination of senior leadership and the commitment of our outstanding underclassmen to trust the process that produced this result. People in our coaching circles know how good a coach
Joe Gingras is, but I want to make sure that everyone reading this article knows that he gets the best out of our men year in and year out. I'm grateful for his dedication to UVM cross country. Kudos to Andrew for a confident start and for his resiliency on a really challenging course. Steve had the race of his life; and our pack of really focused men worked hard to move up throughout the race. Owen and Jameson ran really well and Dillon was simply exceptional doing what he did off such little training the last couple weeks. The women's team finish was good, although as a coach you're always hoping for more. It certainly wasn't from lack of effort and determination. Our pack depth certainly helped today as we had people step up when we needed it for sure. Jane getting First Team All-Conference puts her in elite company in school history, as she has done that now in three sports here at UVM. I'm very pleased that she committed to coming back for a fifth year and being our leader. Andie and Hope keep getting better and Sadie and Sophie ran the best cross country races of their careers."
