WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (2-3) will host the annual TD Bank Classic this weekend (Nov. 26 & 27) at Patrick Gym. The Catamounts will face off with Stonehill (1-4) at noon on Saturday. The non-conference game can be heard on WVMT (FM 96.3 / AM 620) and the Varsity Network App, which you can download
here, with Ryan Zimmerman on the call. The action will also be broadcast live on ESPN3.
Following the Catamounts and Skyhawks on Saturday Siena will face off against Oakland at 3 p.m. That game will be broadcast live on AmericaEast.TV.
On Sunday, the semifinal winners will square off in the TD Bank Championship while the other teams will play a consolation game. The consolation game will be played at 12 p.m. while the championship game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
Stonehill enters the TD Bank Classic with a 1-4 record coming off a 62-35 victory over Hartford on Monday, November 21. The Skyhawks are averaging 49.2 points per game on 34.3 percent shooting from behind the arc. Stonehill has shared the ball well averaging 11.4 assists per game and have crashed the glass hard averaging 42.6 rebounds per contest. Maddie Loder leads the way with 10.6 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. Fifth year guard Emily Bramanti leads the Skyhawks with a team-high 2.2 assists, is second on the team with 8.8 points and third overall with 4.6 boards per game. Fellow fifth year guard Sophie Glidden has had a solid start to the year averaging 8.6 points per contest on 52.5 percent shooting while grabbing a team high 8.6 rebounds per game.

As Stonehill makes their transition to the Division I level this will be the first ever matchup between the Skyhawks and the Catamounts.
SCOUTING SIENA
The Saints (2-3) come into the TD Bank Classic having lost their last matchup against Duquesne 92-73 on the road on Tuesday, November 22. Siena is averaging 66.8 points per contest on 35.6 percent shooting from the field and 25.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Siena has victories over New Hampshire and Lafayette. The Saints have played strong defense averaging 3.4 blocks and 16.6 points off turnovers per contest while only surrendering 67.6 points per contest. Siena is led by sophomore forward Anajah Brown who has started and played every game while registering team-highs of 11.4 points and 7.0 boards per game. She is also blocking 2.0 shots per contest. Junior Ahniysha Jackson is second on the team averaging 11.0 points per game to go along with 2.6 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.2 assists per game. First year guard Elisa Mevius has had a strong start to her campaign leading the team with 4.2 assists per game while also being third on the team in scoring and rebounding per game with 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds.
INSIDE THE SERIES WITH THE SAINTS
This will be the 30th matchup between the two teams in series history with Siena leading 17-12. The two teams last faced off on January 1, 2007, at Patrick Gym where the Catamounts came away with a 75-56 victory.
SCOUTING OAKLAND
The Golden Grizzlies (2-2) come into the TD Bank Classic with victories over Akron and Central Michigan but have dropped their consecutive road games against tough Big 10 opponents Michigan State and Illinois. Oakland is averaging 59.8 points per game on 33.2 percent shooting and 23.9 percent from three point range. Oakland is led by sophomore guard Kennedie Montue who is averaging 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per contest while knocking down a remarkable 20-23 free throws (87.0%) on the season. Senior Breanna Beatty is second on the team and also in double figures at 10.0 points per game while also leading the Golden Grizzlies with 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. Junior forward Alexis Johnson has been a key contributor off the bench averaging 8.0 points and 4.0 boards per game in just 20 minutes of action.

This will be the third ever matchup between Oakland and Vermont, with the Golden Grizzlies holding a 2-0 series advantage. The last matchup came on December 30, 2015, at Patrick Gym where the Catamounts fell 74-68 in a hard-fought battle.
TD BANK CLASSIC HISTORY
The TD Bank Classic has developed a reputation as one of the top in-season tournaments in women's basketball. In past years teams such as Tennessee, NC State, Auburn, Louisville, Vanderbilt and St. John's and coaches Pat Summitt and Kay Yow, have participated in the tournament. The TD Bank Classic also boasts 10 alumni who have gone on to play in the WNBA. The Catamounts have won the tournament title seven times, the last coming in 2011. In the 2021-22 season they fell to Bucknell in the championship game. Delaney Richason, Emma Utterback and Anna Olson were all in double figures. Richason led the way with 18 points, while Utterback contributed 12 points and four assists. Olson nearly had a double-double adding 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
