"Chicago Fire made a great decision by drafting Noah tonight," UVM head coach
Rob Dow said. "Noah is ready to compete for his job, and we're all proud of him here in Catamount Country."
Egan is the second Catamount from the 2022 squad to be drafted by an MLS club. Teammate
Alex Nagy was chosen by DC United in the 2022 SuperDraft.
The UVM defender was a three-time member of the America East All-Conference First Team, as well as the All-Northeast Region First Team. Egan was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List twice as a Catamount. He also earned America East All-Academic honors in 2022.
Egan recorded 19 points (8 goals, 3 assists) in four seasons for the Catamounts and played huge minutes on Vermont's back line. He was named Team MVP for the 2020-21 spring season as a sophomore. Egan patrolled a defensive unit that has produced one of the lowest goals against averages in the country over the past few seasons.
