SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT has suffered six-straight losses after opening conference play 3-0. The Highlanders suffered a 64-53 loss to UAlbany at home on Saturday (Jan. 29). Miles Coleman leads the NJIT attack with a 15.9 scoring average. The forward ranks No. 2 in the league in scoring, and No. 5 in America East play with a conference scoring average of 17.3 points per game. Coleman also ranks in No. 6 in the league in rebounds with 6.3 board s per game this season. Dylan O'Hearn also averages double figures for the Highlanders, posting 13.7 points per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and NJIT meet for the eighth time in series history and the fifth time at Patrick Gym. The Catamounts are 3-1 against the Highlanders at home. UVM and NJIT split the season-series at Patrick Gym in 2020-21. UVM took the first game of the series this season with an 83-57 victory on Jan. 19 at NJIT.
Nick Fiorillo registered a career-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting to lead the Catamounts.
Finn Sullivan also had 18 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from beyond the arc in Newark.

The Catamounts have registered 16 wins in the first 20 games of the season for just the third time in program history. Vermont last recorded at least 16 wins in the first 20 games in the 2004-05 season – UVM would go on to upset No. 4 Syracuse for its first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

8-0 IN LEAGUE PLAY
Vermont has opened up America East play with an 8-0 record for the fifth time in program history and the first time since the 2017-18 campaign. UVM is one of only 15 Division I teams that are still unbeaten in conference play.
