SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters the season picked No. 5 in the Patriot League Preseason Poll after a 5-6 (3-4 Patriot) record in 2021. The Raiders finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the North Division, but suffered a 17-6 loss to nationally-ranked Loyola-Maryland in the Semifinals. Colgate was led by junior Eliza Soutter who posted 39 points on 34 goals and five assists in her sophomore season. Soutter was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team after earning Second Team honors a season ago. Goalkeeper Amelia Cunningham was Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2021 with a .423 save percentage and 11.67 goals against average.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont has an 11-21 mark against Colgate in the all-time series with a 2-3 record in the last five meetings. The Catamounts are 5-11 when traveling to Hamilton and have taken two of the last five at Andy Kerr Stadium. UVM and Colgate last met in the 2020 season that was cut short due to COVID-19.
Ava Vasile led the Catamounts with four goals on four shots in her second collegiate game.
Sophie McLaughlin made 11 saves in goal for Vermont.

CATS IN THE PRESEASON POLL
UVM was picked No. 4 in the 2022 America East Preseason Poll, receiving 22 votes by the league's coaches. Stony Brook was selected as the preseason favorite for the 10th-straight season, but were late ruled ineligible for the America East Playoffs. UMBC and UAlbany received 28 points each, including one first-place vote for the Retrievers to tie for second in the poll.

THE LEADERS
The Catamounts announced their six captains chosen to lead the program for the 2022 season. The leadership group, made up of
Riley Halloran,
Grace Giancola,
Molly McDonough,
Maris Large,
Carolyn Carrera, and
Camille Argentieri, was selected by the team.

NEW FACES
Vermont welcomed 10 newcomers to the program for the 2022 season. The new Catamounts include
Maddie Erskine,
Anabel Gicewicz, Erin Winder,
Annie O'Hara,
Kendall Traveis,
Audrey Cole,
Caroline Kagan, and
Claire Adelhelm, along with transfers Lexi Ruff and
Kerry Gerety. Ruff is a junior transfer from Virignia Tech. Gerety comes to the program as a fifth-year senior after four seasons at Siena.

HOME OPENER
