SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Binghamton has vaulted into second place in league standings with wins in three of its last five games, including a 69-60 victory over Maine on Saturday (Feb. 5). Reigning America East Player of the Week Jacob Falko leads the Bearcats with 13.6 points per game and 3.3 assists per game. Falko has caught fire in league play with an 18.5 scoring average that is tied with UVM's
Ben Shungu for second in the league. The junior who transferred from Gardner-Webb averages 4.5 assists per game in America East play, which leads the league. John McGriff also averages double-figure scoring with 10.1 points per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont is currently riding a 13-game winning streak over Binghamton and owns a 37-8 all-time series mark. The Catamounts are 18-2 against the Bearcats at Patrick Gym and have won 12 straight in Burlington. UVM swept Binghamton on the road a season ago.
Ryan Davis recorded a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds in the Catamounts' 76-60 victory on Jan. 9, 2021.
HUNT FOR 1K
Ryan Davis needs just 13 points on Wednesday night to reach 1,000 points in his career. Davis would become the 41st Catamount in program history to reach the milestone and the ninth under Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach
John Becker. The senior has averaged 11.1 points per game in 89 contests, and 18.0 points per game over the last two seasons.
ACTIVE STREAKS
Vermont's 12-game winning streak is tied for the third-longest active streak in country. The Catamounts trail No. 1 Auburn (W19) and Wagner (W13). UVM's streak is tied with No. 2 Gonzaga, Murray State, South Dakota State, and Houston.
INSIDE THE STREAK
The 12-game streak is currently tied for the third-longest streak by Vermont during
John Becker's tenure. UVM has had four 12+ winning streaks in Becker's 11 seasons as head coach. During the streak, the Catamounts have shot a staggering 54.4% from the field and 45.5% from long range. Vermont has outscored opponents by an average of 15.6 points per game in its 12 wins.
