TRACK & FIELD NOTEBOOK
Vermont track & field closes out the indoor season this weekend with the ECAC & IC4A Championships at BU Track & Tennis Center. Several Catamounts will compete in the combined events, beginning on Friday (Mar. 3) afternoon. The rest of the field kicks off competition on Saturday with the championships ending on Sunday afternoon. Official timing will be conducted by
Paynes Corner Timing.

LAST TIME AT THE ECAC/IC4A'S
Vermont last competed at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Mar. 2020. Then-senior John Benner closed out the indoor season with a record-setting 3000-meter run, posting a time of 8:13.47.

BACK TO BU TRACK & TENNIS CENTER
The Catamounts compete at the BU Track & Tennis Center for the second consecutive week and third time this season. The America East Indoor Track & Field Championships were hosted at BU Track & Tennis Center one week ago. The Vermont women finished sixth (59 points) in the team competition. The UVM men were seventh in their respective competition with 38 points. The Catamounts also competed in the Scarlet & White Invite, which was hosted by BU on Feb. 5.

SONIA'S SCHOOL RECORD
Sonia John set a blistering pace in the women's 400-meter dash at the America East Championships, posting a school record 55.67-second mark. The senior was the first Catamount in program history to run a sub-56 second mark in the 400.

ALL-CONFERENCE CATS
Sonia John registered All-Conference honors with her record-setting 400-meter dash, finishing third in the finals.
Jane Leighton (3000m),
Lauren Triarsi (pentathlon), and
Sofia Wittmann (pole vault) also earned All-Conference honors on the women's team.
Bill Comstock (800m) and
Alex Warner (500m) were All-Conference members on the men's team.

OUTDOOR SCHEDULE
The 2022 outdoor schedule was released on social media Thursday (Mar. 3). The Catamounts open the outdoor campaign on Mar. 26 when they visit conference foe UMass Lowell. Vermont hosts the 2022 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Frank H. Livak Track & Field Facility on May 7 & 8.
