SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
UMBC enters Saturday's contest after suffering a 20-14 loss to Binghamton on Wednesday (Apr. 6) at home. The Retrievers have earned wins in three of their last five games, including their lone conference victory over UMass Lowell (W, 12-11) on Apr. 2. UMBC owns the top scoring offense in the league, averaging 14.82 goals per game. Claire Bockstie leads America East in scoring, averaging 4.00 goals per game, which ranks seventh in the country. Teammate Dymin Gerow has 3.36 goals per game, which is third in the league. The Retrievers also have the top save percentage (.524) in the conference, which ranks fifth nationally. Goalkeeper Lexi Roberts has a league-best .509 save percentage.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont is 6-11 all-time against UMBC with a 4-5 mark in Burlington. The Catamounts and Retrievers had matching 6-6 records in league play a season ago – Vermont won the tiebreaker and secured the No. 3 seed in the America East Playoffs. UVM suffered an 11-8 loss to UMBC at Virtue Field last season.

Carolyn Carrera leads the Catamounts with 3.18 caused turnovers per game, which also leads the country. UVM's highest single-game caused turnover total is 22, registered twice against Manhattan (Mar. 14) and Merrimack (Mar. 23). Carrera's career-high seven caused turnovers against Manhattan on Mar. 14 is the highest single-game total in the country this season.

Carolyn Carrera's caused turnover average isn't her only stat that leads the country. The senior averages a nation-best 4.09 ground balls per game – 0.49 ground balls higher than the second-best mark. Carrera's career-high nine ground balls against Manhattan on Mar. 14 is the third-highest single-game total in the country this season.
