BALTIMORE – Two Vermont women's lacrosse players received ILWomen All-American accolades, becoming the first Catamounts in program history to earn the national honor. Inside Lacrosse made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

Ava Vasile received Honorable Mention, after leading Vermont to its first America East Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. The UVM duo also received IWLCA All-Northeast Regional honors in early May.
Carrera finished her senior season ranked No. 2 in the country in caused turnovers per game (2.89) and No. 3 in ground balls per game (3.28). The Harriman, N.Y. native was named to the All-Northeast First Team and received All-Conference First Team honors. The lockdown defender posted a team-high 52 caused turnovers and 59 ground balls this season. Carrera registered five caused turnovers and nine ground balls in Vermont's two America East Tournament victories, and was named to the All-Championship Team.
Vasile produced a program-best 63 goals and 79 points this season for the Catamounts. Earning All-Conference First Team and All-Northeast Second Team honors, Vasile tallied 27 points (22 goals, 5 assists) in America East play and netted nine goals in the conference tournament en route to All-Championship honors. The junior matched a career-high six goals in the America East Semifinal victory over No. 3 Binghamton, including the game-winning marker with 7.8 seconds left in regulation. She added three goals in the championship victory, and scored Vermont's first goal in NCAA Tournament history a week later against Denver.
