KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Vermont men's soccer duo,
Alex Nagy and
Noah Egan, have been named to the 2022 Hermann Trophy Watch List. The two Catamounts are on the list for the second consecutive season. The United Soccer Coaches made the announcement on Thursday (Aug. 25).

The Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious award in college soccer, presented annually to the nation's top NCAA Division I soccer player. Brian Wright '17 was named a Hermann Trophy Semifinalist in 2016 as the first Catamount in program history to receive the accolade.
Nagy is one of 11 players on the list who have earned All-America recognition in previous seasons. Nagy was named to the All-America Third Team in the spring of 2021. The Bow, N.H. native led the Catamounts last season with 20 points and 10 assists, earning All-Conference First Team and All-Region First Team. Nagy finished the season ranked No. 10 in the country in assists. The midfielder was selected by DC United in the second round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.
Egan is the lone America East defender on the list. A stalwart on the back line for the Catamounts, Egan started in all 19 games last season and contributed to Vermont's impressive 0.95 goals against average and nine clean sheets. The Irvine, Calif. native was named to the America East All-Conference First Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team.
Picked No. 2 in the America East Preseason Poll, the Catamounts kick off the 2022 campaign on Thursday (Aug. 25) when it visits Merrimack in North Andover, Mass. The season opener is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and will broadcast live on NEC Front Row.
The Catamounts host the first of 10 home games this season on Tuesday (Aug. 30) at Virtue Field. Vermont will take on Quinnipiac at 7 p.m. Tickets for the home opener are available for purchase at
