Vermont (8-9, 2-1 AE) continues conference play on the road Wednesday (Jan. 11) when it visits UMass Lowell (14-3, 2-1 AE) at Costello Athletic Center. Tip-off between the Catamounts and River Hawks is slated for 6 p.m. ET.

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
UMass Lowell enters Wednesday's game as the conference's top-ranked team in the NCAA NET Rankings at No. 133. The River Hawks are off to their best start in program history, but suffered an 89-63 loss at UAlbany on Sunday afternoon. Abdoul Karim Koulibaly (12.4 ppg) and Everette Hammond (12.3 ppg) lead the UML offense this season. Ayinde Hikim (10.2 ppg) also averages double figures, as well as a team-high 4.1 assists per game. The River Hawks return America East All-Defensive member Max Brooks, who ranks No. 12 in the country in block percentage (10.8%). He averages 2.1 blocks per game this season, and 3.0 blocks in league play. UMass Lowell is 8-0 at home this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts own a 15-3 all-time record against the River Hawks, and are 8-2 when visiting Lowell. Vermont earned victories in both meetings last season, defeating UMass Lowell 78-67 on the road, and 62-61 in Patrick Gym.
Aaron Deloney averaged 10.5 points against UML. The Cats have earned wins in six of their last seven trips to Lowell.

UVM has held opponents to a league-best 39.4% field goal percentage and 26.4% three-point percentage to start America East play. Vermont's scoring defense ranks No. 2 in conference play, allowing 64.0 points per game. The Catamounts lead the league with a +4.33 turnover margin through three league games.

Matt Veretto leads the UVM attack through the first three games of America East play. The graduate student averages 12.0 points per game, a 55.6% (15-27) field goal percentage, and a 42.9% (6-14) three-point percentage. His field goal percentage ranks No. 3 in the conference during league play.
DUNCAN DISTRIBUTING
Robin Duncan has averaged 4.7 assists per game to start league play. The fifth-year senior ranks No. 2 in the league in assists per game. Duncan has recorded at least three assists in 13 of 17 games this season. He has tallied a season-high seven assists twice, last coming in the conference opening victory at UMBC (W, 74-61).
