Women’s Hockey Hosts Northeastern for “Thanksgiving at the Gut” on NESN

WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont looks to get back on track as they welcome Northeastern to the Gut Tuesday night at 6 p.m. for "Thanksgiving at the Gut." This game will be the first-ever NESN women's hockey broadcast from Gutterson Fieldhouse. Bridgette Proulx and Paige Capistran will have the call. The broadcast will also be simulcast on ESPN+.
 
In honor of "Thanksgiving at the Gut" there will be various fan giveaways to show our appreciation to everyone who supports us in Catamount Country. Don't forget to visit the the marketing table in the Hockey Hall of Honor to sign up to be entered to win.

NATÁLIE MLÝNKOVÁ LEADS HOCKEY EAST
Natálie Mlýnková's total now stands at 11 points in Hockey East play. This achievement places her in a shared position as the top conference point generator with three other skaters. She holds the  added distinction of leading the conference outright with an impressive 1.22 points per game. Mlýnková is also tied for third in conference scoring with seven goals this season.

PRECISION PUCKS 
With a shooting percentage of 12.7%, Vermont is third among all of Division I. Despite being outshot by 62 shots, the Cats have maximized their opportunities, scoring 36 goals on just 283 shots. 
 
ATTENDANCE RECORD RESET
Vermont broke the Hockey East home attendance record for the second straight year on November 10, smashing the previous record of 2,210. A whopping 2,705 fans attended Saturday's Pack the Gut Challenge game presented by the Windjammer against 15th-ranked Boston College.
    
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northeastern heads into Tuesday's game after a weekend split with Providence on November 10 and 11. Allie Lalonde had a standout performance on Friday, scoring two goals and contributing an assist for a three-point day, propelling the Huskies to victory over the Friars. On Saturday, Taze Thompson netted the lone goal for Northeastern, but Providence prevailed with a 3-1 win.
 
Peyton Anderson leads Northeastern in scoring this season with seven goals. Skylar Irving ranks second in Hockey East in assists, already accumulating 10 early in the season. Gwyneth Phillips guards the net for the Huskies, showcasing an impressive 1.08 goals-against average and a strong .954 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY 
The Catamounts are currently behind in the all-time series against Northeastern with a record of 9-48-4. In the previous season, the Huskies won in all three encounters against Vermont. Hailey Burns and Mlýnková each added a goal in those three losses. The Catamounts' most recent triumph over Northeastern occurred on January 28, 2022, when Bella Parento secured the game-winning goal at the 6:15 mark in the third period, leading Vermont to a 2-1 victory over the Huskies.

CATAMOUNTS LEADERSHIP GROUP 
Head Coach Jim Plumer has selected five student-athletes to lead the Catamounts during the 2023-24 campaign. 2023 World Championship bronze medalist Natálie Mlýnková will serve as captain for Vermont. The Catamounts will have four alternates this season with Hailey BurnsSara LevesqueMaddy Skelton and Alaina Tanski. Skelton served as an alternate captain last season as well. 
  
CZECH CAPTAIN IS BACK FOR MORE 
Senior captain Mlýnková is the top returning scorer in Hockey East this season. She set new career highs in goals (23), assists (19) and points (42) last year. 
  
OFFENSIVE TOUCH KEY TO HISTORIC CAMPAIGNS 
Vermont scored over 100 goals in each of the last two years for the first time in program history on their way to back-to-back second place finishes in Hockey East with a program record of 22 wins in each campaign. Vermont returns 56.1% of its scoring from a year ago.
