WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The 13th-ranked Vermont Catamounts return to Gutterson Fieldhouse this weekend for two huge Hockey East contests against 15th-ranked Boston College. Friday is the Catamounts annual Pack the Gut Challenge presented by the Windjammer, admission is only $2, free for kids 12 and younger and free for UVM students. Help us break the women's Hockey East regular season attendance record which was set last season with a total of 2,210 fans in attendance.

PACK THE GUT HISTORY
Vermont holds a 4-4-1 record in the previous Pack the Gut Challenge contests, which was created in 2013 by Danielle Rancourt '14. Over the previous editions, 15,602 fans have attended, an average of 1,734 per game. The Hockey East regular season attendance record (at a home site) was set last year where UVM defeated Holy Cross 3-1 in front of a crowd of 2,210.

MILITARY APPRECIATION SATURDAY PRESENTED BY MILTON CAT
Saturday is the Catamounts' annual, Military Appreciation Game presented by Milton Cat. We encourage fans to visit with our friends fromÂ
Josh Pallotta Fund, a local non-profit providing critical services to veterans and active military personnel. As a thank you to those that have served or are currently serving, all military personnel will receive a complimentary ticket to the game with a valid military ID. The first 100 fans will receive co-branded Milton Cat and UVM hats in the main lobby.
CATAMOUNTS RANKED AGAINÂ
Throughout the 2023-24 season, the Catamounts have consistently held a top 25 ranking. In the current week, UVM is positioned as the 13th-ranked team in both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey polls. Â
NATÁLIE MLÝNKOVÁ RISING IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Following a remarkable performance in Vermont's series against New Hampshire, Natálie Mlýnková made a significant leap in the career record books. After scoring four goals and accumulating five points in the series, she now holds a spot among the top ten career leaders in both points and goals. Mlýnková's career point total stands at an impressive 75, surpassing
Maude Poulin-Labelle '22 to claim the tenth spot on the all-time career points list. Additionally, her 37 goals secure her a place among the all-time top ten goal scorers, surpassing
Alyssa Gorecki '19.
PRECISION PUCKSÂ
With a shooting percentage of 14.7%, Vermont is second among all of Division I. Despite being outshot by 45 shots, the Cats have maximized their opportunities, scoring 28 goals on just 190 shots.Â

CZECH CAPTAIN IS BACK FOR MOREÂ
Senior captain Mlýnková is the top returning scorer in Hockey East this season. She set new career highs in goals (23), assists (19) and points (42) last year.Â

OFFENSIVE TOUCH KEY TO HISTORIC CAMPAIGNSÂ
Vermont scored over 100 goals in each of the last two years for the first time in program history on their way to back-to-back second place finishes in Hockey East with a program record of 22 wins in each campaign. Vermont returns 56.1% of its scoring from a year ago.Â

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College enters the weekend with a season record of 6-5-1, securing all six of their victories within conference play. In their most recent games, the Eagles faced off against Maine, resulting in a weekend split. On Friday afternoon, they experienced a narrow 3-4 loss, but bounced back Saturday with a 4-2 triumph. Sammy Taber earned recognition as Hockey East Rookie of the Week for contributing four points (1 goal and 3 assists) for the Eagles, including a crucial assist on the game-winning goal in Saturday's contest.

Leading the scoring charts for Boston College are forwards Katie Pyne and Gaby Roy, both tallying five goals this season. Taber and Sammy Smigliani share the top spots for assists, each accumulating five. Between the pipes, sophomore goalie Grace Campbell safeguards the net, boasting an .915 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORYÂ
The Catamounts trail the all-time series 7-50-5 against the Eagles. However, Vermont is 4-1-1 in their last six encounters with Boston College. These two teams faced off three times last season, and in the most recent showdown in Chestnut Hill, the Catamounts emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. Mlýnková played a pivotal role in all three of UVM's goals, contributing with an early assist and scoring the final two goals of the game, securing the Catamount comeback.
