Friday's game will broadcast live on ESPN+. CHASING SCHOOL HISTORY
A win over Miami on Friday will match a program-best 10 non-conference wins. The Cats have won 10 non-conference games six previous times, last coming in 2019-20.
 
FINAL GAME BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Vermont will be playing in its final game before Christmas with a chance to record its most wins before the holiday. The Catamounts last won nine games before Christmas in 2018-19.
 
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Miami carries a three-game losing streak into Friday's non-conference matchup. The RedHawks suffered a 92-82 loss to Wright State on Tuesday night in Dayton, Ohio. Darweshi Hunter leads the Miami attack with 13.2 points per game. He is the only RedHawks scorer averaging double figures this season. Anderson Mirambeaux was named to the MAC Preseason All-Conference team after earning honorable mention a season ago. The 6-foot-8, 305-pound center made his season debut in Tuesday's game at Wright State.

Vermont and Miami will meet for the first time on Friday afternoon.
 
CATS VS MAC
Vermont is 3-3 against Mid-American Conference schools under John Becker. The Cats are 2-1 over the last two seasons with wins over Ball State and Toledo. UVM guard Brenton Mills transferred from Bowling Green State where he played in the MAC over the last two seasons. 
 
HUGE WIN IN TOLEDO
UVM recorded a dominant 86-60 victory at Toledo on Wednesday night. The Cats +26 scoring margin was its largest in a non-conference road game since 2009 when it defeated NJIT 88-49.
 
ESPNU ON JAN. 11
America East announced on Thursday afternoon that Vermont's game against UMBC on Jan. 11 will be nationally televised on ESPNU. It will be the third straight season that Patrick Gym has hosted the league's ESPNU game.
