As the Catamounts approach the home stretch of the 2022-23 campaign they welcome #16 Northeastern on their penultimate home weekend. UVM will host the Huskies for a single game Saturday night at 7 p.m. for their annual Rally Against Cancer Game presented by Mascoma Bank.

The Catamounts will wear special-edition lavender jerseys for Saturday's contest. A live auction for the sweaters will begin at puck drop at 6 p.m. at
https://uvmathletics.com/auctions/. Bidding starts at $125 with the proceeds going to the University of Vermont Cancer Center. The auction will close Saturday, February 17 at 7 p.m.

Saturday's contest will air on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan on the call. The voice of the Catamounts, Adam LaFleur, will broadcast the action from the Handy Toyota Broadcast Booth on WVMT (FM 96.3 / AM 620). As always, the game will also be available on the Varsity Network App.

COMEBACK CATAMOUNTS
Twice last weekend the Catamounts battled back from three-goal third period deficits at UMass to force overtime. Vermont has scored 17 goals in the third period, seven of those goals game last weekend. First year
Massimo Lombardi had a goal and an assist in Friday's comeback effort. On Saturday sophomores Joel Maatta and
Isak Walther led the way with one goal and two assists apiece.

Isak Walther leads the team in scoring this season with seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. In Vermont's last seven games Walther has four goals and three assists for seven points.

BUYALSKY BRINGING THE HEAT
Colorado Avalanche draft pick
Andrei Buyalsky is on a career-high five-game point streak for the Catamounts. Buyalsky has one goal and six assists over that stretch. Buyalsky is the team leader in assists with 11.

CATAMOUNTS ARE FAST STARTERS
Vermont's best period this season has been the opening 20. The Catamounts are outscoring its opponents 22-14 in the first period. UVM has scored first in 13 of their games this season.

SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
The Huskies won the 2023 Beanpot presented by Dunkin' Monday night at TD Garden. They defeated No. 9 Harvard in a shootout to claim their fourth Beanpot title in the last five tournaments. Including their win over No. 9 UConn 4-1 at Frozen Fenway on January 7 the Huskies are 6-1-2 in its last nine games. Their only loss coming in overtime.

Devon Levi was named Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week on Monday by Hockey East. He leads Hockey East in conference wins, shutouts and saves this season. Levi stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced against Vermont in October.

Senior forward Aidan McDonough leads the Huskies in scoring this season with 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points. He had three goals and two assists against the Catamounts in their series at Matthews Arena in October.

SERIES HISTORY
The Catamounts lead the all-time series with Northeastern 35-34-8. UVM is 18-6-7 at the Gut against the Huskies. Vermont defeated Northeastern 1-0 on the strength of aÂ
Will Zapernick game-winning goal on March 1, 2022 in the teams' last matchup at Gutterson Fieldhouse. In October, the Huskies claimed a two-game series against the Catamounts with a 5-2 and 5-0 win.

SIZE MATTERS
The Catamounts as a team have an average height of 6'1.6" which makes them the tallest team in college hockey. Boston University (6'0.9") is the only other team in Hockey East in the top-10. Vermont is also fourth in the NCAA in average weight at 191.0 pounds.
