COACH'S QUOTE
"We went up against one of the top teams in the country and put up over forty shots on a great goaltender," Head Coach Todd Woodcroft said. "We couldn't score. Empty net goals never feel good when you look at the score, but we feel we deserved a better outcome based on how hard we worked. Back at it tomorrow to get ready for BU next weekend."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Riley Hughes opened the scoring for the Huskies 14:58 into the opening frame. Hunter McDonald found Hughes open with a stretch pass from the Northeastern goal line. Hughes took McDonald's feed at the UVM blue line and blew a shot just under the bar past Gabe Carriere.
  • In the second period the Catamounts threw everything they had at Levi. Vermont rang up 24 shots on goal including 14 on the power play but they couldn't solve Levi. The 24 shots were a season-high for Vermont in a single period.
  • At the 5:51 mark of the second Matt Choupani deflected a Jeremie Bucheler point shot past Carriere for his ninth goal of the season to make it 2-0.
  • Cam Lund sealed Northeastern's sixth league win of 2023 with an empty netter with 2:22 to go.
