AMERICA EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS: DAY 2
BOSTON – Several Catamounts collected awards on the final day of the 2023 America East Indoor Track & Field Championships at The Track at New Balance. The UVM women finished sixth in the team competition with 59 points. The UVM men were ninth with a score of 35.5 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charlotte Crum registered an All-Conference performance in the women's 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:15.99. The senior scored six points for Vermont. Carolyn Doyle also scored for the Catamounts with a time of 2:22.25 and an eighth-place finish. Crum placed eighth in the women's 500-meter run with a time of 1:20.04.
- Andie Cornish raced to third-place in the women's 1000-meter run to secure All-Conference honors. The senior nearly matched her personal record, running a time of 2:56.67.
- Cornish and Hope Tyska both scored in the women's mile run, finishing in sixth, and seventh-place, respectively. Cornish logged a time of 5:11.68 in the run, and Tyska ran a time of 5:12.82 for a new personal record. The duo grabbed five points for the Cats.
- Kenneth Morrissey recorded a fourth-place finish in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.43. The sophomore picked up five points for the Catamounts with the finish.
- Jane Leighton raced to fifth place in the women's 3000-meter run, recording a time of 10:01.36. The graduate student grabbed four points for UVM.
- Jackson Baker and Henry Miller picked up six points for the Catamounts in the men's heptathlon. Baker finished fifth with a personal-best score 4,266 points. Miller was seventh with a score of 4,179 points.
- The Catamounts grabbed 4.5 points in the men's high jump with scoring marks from Kevin Mills (1.96m) and Pierce DeBoer (1.91m). Mills placed sixth with his new personal-best mark. DeBoer finished a tie for seventh, matching his highest mark.
- Lauren Triarsi was sixth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters.
- Andrew Crompton logged a sixth-place finish in the men's 3000-meter run, posting a time of 8:27.98 to score three points for Vermont.
- Gabby Rausa finished sixth in the women's 400-meter finals, running a time of 58.78 seconds.
- Alex Siaton placed seventh in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.11 seconds. The junior placed eighth in the men's 400-meter finals with a time of 51.30 seconds.
MOST OUTSTANDING FIELD PERFORMER
ELITE 18
- Charlotte Crum received the America East Elite 18 award for her high achievement on the track and in the classroom. Crum carries a 3.99 GPA in Psychological Science.
- Andrew Crompton also received the America East Elite 18 Award for his academic and athletic achievements. Crompton, a 3.99 GPA in Microbiology, also received the award during the 2022 Cross Country season.Â
