BOSTON –
Matt Shaffer, for the third time this season, is the America East Defensive Player of the Week. The league announced its weekly award winners earlier today.
Shaffer picked up his first two awards in back-to-back weeks to start the season.

The graduate student goalie made 11 saves to just nine goals allowed against Binghamton – the league's second-ranked offense – on Saturday. It was just the second time this season an opponent has held Binghamton to single-digit goals. Shaffer has made 10 or more saves in six of his eight starts and ranks third in goals against average through four conference games.
The Catamounts return home for the first time since March 25 when they take on Bryant Saturday afternoon at Virtue Field. Both teams are 4-0 in America East play. First faceoff against the Bulldogs is set for 3:30 p.m.
