BOSTON – Tristan Whitaker, for the first time this season, is the America East Rookie of the Week. The league announced its weekly award winners earlier today.
 
It is the first time a Catamount has been named Rookie of the Week this season.

Whitaker scored five goals in Saturday's 13-12 victory over Bryant to lead the Vermont offense. After Bryant grabbed an 8-7 lead in the third quarter, Whitaker scored three of Vermont's next five goals to power UVM into sole possession of first place in America East. In conference play, the first-year from Wayne, Pa. has nine goals and eight assists for 17 points which ranks second on the team.
 
The Catamounts wrap up a two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when UMass Lowell comes to town for a noon faceoff at Virtue Field. It will be Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association. All the action can be seen on ESPN+.
