COACH'S QUOTE
"First and foremost, I am very pleased with the way in which our men and women support each other and help us get every single point that we possibly can," head coach
Matt Belfield said. "It's difficult when a team title is not a reasonable goal for our circumstances, but that hasn't changed the manner in which our athletes fight for everything we can possibly achieve. Lauren's accomplishments can't be overstated, so I will reinforce that her heptathlon title, along with a few more points in the open high jump on tired legs, is why she is a superstar. She understands what 'team' means and leads us well.
Alex Siaton also competed at a level we've never seen a sprinter achieve in our program's history. To be able to score in both the 100 and 200, and have the range and stamina to anchor a school record 4x4 relay all in the same day, is a tribute to his determination and commitment to his team. I'd also like to recognize Kayla for her all-conference performance for the second year in a row, and Sophie for an extraordinary improvement in the last two weeks to earn her first all-conference honors."
